The excellent Vancouver
visitor center is almost
opposite Canada Place
at the foot of Burrard Street in
the Waterfront Centre, 200
Burrard St at the corner of
Canada Place Way (June-Aug daily
8am-6pm; Sept-May Mon-Fri

). It is called by different
names depending what you read:
the "Tourist InfoCentre"
is the most common designation.
Besides information on the city
and much of southeastern British
Columbia, the office provides foreign
exchange facilities, BC
TransLink (transit or public
transport) tickets and
information, and tickets to
sports and entertainment events.
It also has one of the most
comprehensive accommodation
services imaginable, backed
up by bulging photo albums of
hotel rooms and B&Bs: the
booking service is free. Smaller
kiosks open in the summer (July
& Aug) in a variety of
locations, usually including
Stanley Park and close to the
Vancouver Art Gallery on the
corner of Georgia and Granville
(daily 9.30am-5.30pm, Thurs
& Fri till 9pm).
