Bear in mind that food shops are generally open 8.30am-1pm and 4-7pm or thereabouts, and that the great majority are closed on Wednesday afternoons and all day Sunday (though some supermarkets stay open all day Wednesday). And don't try to picnic in the Piazza - the by-laws against it are strictly enforced.
